Improved Facebook for Windows Phone 7 app gets design, performance overhaul

Microsoft has made some significant changes to the Facebook for Windows Phone 7 app including improved design, better navigation and lots of bug fixes.

“You’ll find changes across the board” in version 2.3 of the app, said Michael Stroh, a technology writer in Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 team, in a February 14 post on the Windows Phone Blog.

The most significant improvements include new panorama and profile designs, enhanced news feed performance, refined filters, posting privacy controls and better navigation.

According to the Facebook for Windows Phone Facebook page, the app sees 1.2 million active users per month -- just a fraction of Facebook’s reported 425 million monthly active mobile users.

In December 2011, ZDNet reported that Facebook for iPhone had the highest number of monthly active users (99.5 million) followed by Facebook for Android with 86.1 million monthly active users.
