Nokia is keen to grab a handle on more of the US market by selling its flagship smartphone, the Lumia 900, for a tiny $99.99 on a two-year contract.
The Windows-powered smartphone will hit AT&T stores in the country on Sunday, April 8 while pre-orders for the device will begin on March 30. According to CNET, it will be “one of the most affordable flagship products [American carrier] AT&T has ever sold.” Most flagship smartphones, including the Apple iPhone 4S and the forthcoming HTC Titan II Windows phone are launched at an on-contract starting price of around $200.
Nokia’s first Windows smartphone, the Lumia 800 was launched in Europe in November 2011 for a price of €420 (before taxes and subsidies).
The Nokia Lumia 900 was first unveiled in January 2012 and was awarded the Best Smartphone Award at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2012.
